My Mother bought her Wedding dress at Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue in 1940's. Perhaps that's what initially brought me to gaze inside their beautifully decorated windows. We have been fortunate to see them on many an occasion, and it is truly a highlight for me when in NYC. Secretly, I always wanted to be a Window Dresser! I can only imagine the hard work, but also creative fun it must be to dress windows such as these! Dazzling, imaginative, elegant, all wrapped up in a beautiful whimsical way. They are the kind of windows that make your jaw drop. Bergdorf's was established in 1901! It is a beautiful and Iconic building of glamourous NY architecture that is know for their high end fashion, but also for their Christmas windows...which are in my opinion, by far, are the best in the world. "The 2012 windows, entitled “BG Follies of 2012,” are inspired by the lavish performances of American popular entertainment of the 1920’s and 30’s– the Jazz Age. The windows evoke the glorious era of Art Deco theater palaces re-creating the sumptuous atmosphere of the Ziegfeld Follies, the verve of Busby Berkeley’s Hollywood musicals, and the bounce of Vaudeville revues."
