Luxembourg Gardens is the second largest public Park in Paris. I love public parks, especially when the city embraces them, and it becomes an extension of your home. It is there for everyone to use...to stroll, to sit and read, to exercise, Tai-Chi, tennis, photograph, and picnic. It is used by the young, and the old, and it is gorgeous. It is continually maintained, and re-planted with beautiful color year round. The dirt paths give the impression of being in the countryside, and it heals the mind. There is the most wonderful fountain there, The Medici Fountain, that is so romantic, it almost makes me cry. For me, strolling through the park, and watching the Parisians daily activities, is one of the highlights of Paris for me. Once and a while, take a walk in a city park. It reveals the life and culture of the city.
