The Sicilian cuisine is a rich and varied Mediterranean diet which shows traces of all the cultures which established themselves on the island of Sicily over the centuries. Native bees were making honey that the Greeks used as offerings to their goddess Aphrodite. The rich pastures supported sheep and goats whose milk was made into the cheese we know today as ricotta, which is quite simply the most incredible taste on Earth!

Although its cuisine is predominantly based on Italian cuisine, Sicilian food also has Spanish, Greek and Arab influences. Pesce spada, Swordfish is a very popular dish you can find on almost any Menu. Spaghetti ai ricci (spaghetti prepared with sea urchin) Pasta alle sarde (with anchovies) Cassatas are popular and traditional Sicilian desserts, as well as the
very famous Arancine (a form of deep-fried rice croquettes), a virtual meal!
